The Walthams Cup 2024
The inaugural match was played last year and White Waltham took a defeat on home soil on the penultimate ball and are looking for revenge. Village versus Village – The Waltham Cup 2024 will be played this year in the Colosseum of Waltham St Lawrence.
A cricket match of rivalry between the 2 Waltham Parishes with all players reside in the 2 parishes, with loyalties already split.
The tranquillity of the two beautiful parishes will be briefly put aside as the War of the Walthams drowns out the jibber jabber of passing cyclists and even the roar of speeding motorists in the sleepy Berkshire countryside!
Let the gladiators get together for a Sunday afternoon of abuse ribbing competition, bad sport, family fun and some food (BBQ), beer and wine and the chance to support Thames Hospice as the chosen charity.
White Waltham colours are Burgundy and Waltham St Lawrence are light Blue – wear the colours of your team and enjoy an afternoon of the second episode of this new village versus village annual event.
Play will start at 1pm and food and drink will be available throughout.
